There isn't any doubt in my mind. Water is the most effective method of rehydrating your body. We are all aware of the importance of being hydrated for our health. You may, on the other hand, be unaware of the most effective methods of hydrating your body throughout the day. When you are thirsty, your first inclination may be to go for a glass of water - however, your body requires more than just plain drinking water in order to be properly hydrated. Here are few points:
1. Drinking Schedule
Don't wait till you're thirsty before getting something to drink. By the time you begin to feel thirsty, you've already begun to dehydrate a little. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and more fluids than normal when the weather is hot, especially if you're doing physical activity or working out.
2. Flavor
Add some flavor to your water. Plain water can be made more interesting by incorporating fresh fruits or a splash of fruit juice into the drink mix. Alternatively, clear broths, ice pops, or sports beverages can be consumed. Just make sure to keep caffeine and alcohol intake to a minimum.
3. Fruits/Vegetables
Consume fruits and vegetables that are high in water content. In addition to containing beneficial nutrients, certain fruits and vegetables also contain a significant amount of water. Fruits such as peaches, melons, strawberry, and watermelon are high in water content. Cucumbers, leafy vegetables and tomatoes are examples of vegetables that are high in water content.
4. Scorching Weather
If it becomes too hot outside, stay indoors. If it's extremely hot outside, stay inside in an air-conditioned area. Try a shopping mall, movie theatre, or public library for air conditioning if you don't have access to air conditioning at home. Avoid direct sunlight when the sun's rays are at their greatest. Outdoor activities should be scheduled for the early morning or late evening.
5. Dressing
Dress appropriately for the weather. Dress in clothing that is light and loose-fitting, allowing your skin to breathe. Dark colors tend to absorb heat, so choose for lighter hues instead. Wear a hat in the sun to keep your head cool or use an umbrella, and use lots of sunscreen to avoid being sunburned, which can raise your skin temperature and make it more difficult to stay cool in the heat.
